I moved from a big, drafty, inefficient house to a 5-star plus home, saving 75% on utilities alone. The dogs and I really appreciate the 20 acres of fabulous land along the river. And the neighborhood and villare are pretty much ideal. I love my home.

For less than many rentals, I own this lovely home in a beautiful spot. My back yard looks over the river - what could be better than that? The maintenance is minimal, so I can spend more time enjoying my new life. It's small town living, but an easy drive to the technical school and the hospital. And my house is airy and bright, efficient and comfortable.

I am a single, empty-nester eager to downsize from a large, old Vermont house to a small, energy efficient one. I had some very specific needs: a spacious, properly lighted painting studio and total accessibility for a wheelchair-bound grandson. Richard and I discussed these requirements and I am delighted to say I have the compact, energy efficient home of my dreams at a price I can afford. Although small, the house feels roomy: the large, corner windows give all the main rooms beautiful light. Glass in all the doors and sidelights bring an additional sense of space and light. The house site is large enough to have a lawn and garden space for vegetables, flowers, and fruit. The radiant heat is wonderfully steady and comfortable. Though I haven't spent a full year in the house yet, I have noticed a significant decrease in my utility costs.

Second Branch Homes is a nice combination of town & country, near to my job, close to goods & services, but far enough away to still be rural. I appreciate the river and land for walking, cross country skiing & fishing. My mortgage is considerably less than the rent I used to pay, and my utilities are very, very low.
